On August 21, 2014, I went to Brampton City Hall and visited the Clerk’s Office. I withdrew my nomination for Wards 3 & 4 Peel District School Board Trustee, and filed my nomination papers for Regional Councillor, Brampton Wards 3 & 4.
I have been the Trustee for most of the new wards for the last 16 years so serving the residents of this area makes sense to me, in the new role.
A little about me. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 42 years. Penny and I have 3 adult children and 2 young grandchildren. The kids were born at Peel Memorial Hospital and our grandkids at Brampton Civic Hospital. (I am excited that construction has begun on the new Peel Memorial).
I have worked in health care for over 40 years including 17 years at Peel Memorial Hospital in many roles, and currently as the Director, Operations at Peel Senior Link (providing personal support to seniors to assist them to live independently in their own homes).
Why am I seeking the position of Regional Councillor? More of that to come, as this site develops. But simply put – I believe that government must work effectively and efficiently, adding value to the residents, making lives better by providing:
- the right services & infrastructure
- at the right time
- in the right place
- in the right quantity and quality
- to the right people
- at the right price.
